The Brief

We were asked to help develop a decorating scheme for this client based in Nottingham. They wanted help introducing pattern and texture within their lounge and were keen to maximise light at the same time. The overall brief was to create a simple, stylish and youthful decorating scheme which is consistent with the rest of their home.

The Solution

The room is moderately sized and required some creative thinking about how best to decorate without it becoming too busy and cluttered. The client was keen to introduce a feature wallpaper which was a bit different from the norm and we were delighted when we found a textured wallpaper by Harlequin, it has a linen effect look which adds interest without overwhelming the space with a bold pattern. We also selected a beautiful warm grey from the Farrow and Ball colour palette which complimented the wallpaper perfectly. We opted for a roman blind at the window to keep the space feeling light and airy and found a striking fabric from Designers Guild which has a modern ikat design and also introduced acid green which our client was keen to use.
